National Triples 2019-2020 at Midlothian - the ladies team of Alison Bradford, Sandra Craig and Pat Johnston lost 23 - 15 in the first round and the gents team of Kris Ritchie, Darren Cooper and Gareth Crosbie were beaten by East Lothian 24 - 10 in the preliminary round.

The Scottish Youth indoor Bowling Association (SYIBA) National Fours - 17 teams from throughout Scotland participated in this round robin event at Falkirk Indoor Bowling Club. Congratulations and commiserations to the Abbeyview team who were the National Fours runners Up - Kara Lees, Elly McFarlane, Aaron Miller and Sophie McGrouther and many congratulations to the SYIBA National Fours winners 2019/20 - Blantyre IBC - Molly Ingles, Craig Latimer, Ellie Ingles and Aiden Craigens.
Congratulations to Kimberly Dodds who has been picked for the team to represent Scotland at the Ladies BIIBC (British Isles Indoor Bowling Championships) International Series at Llanelli from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th March 2020 and also to Martin McCalley and Gary Hutchison (reserve) of Falkirk Indoor Bowling Club on being chosen for the Gents BIIBC International Series at Llanelli from Thursday 12th to Saturday 14th March 2020.

The Scottish Youth indoor Bowling Association (SYIBA) are holding a Round Robin Fours Competition at Falkirk Indoor Bowling Club on Sunday 1st December starting at 9:30 am.The competition is open to boys and girls and is expected to attract about 24 - 30 teams from all over Scotland according to David Orr of Falkirk who is one of the main organisers of the event.

Congratulations to Ron McArthur and his team on raising £1900 at the Fundraiser Race Night at Falkirk Indoor Bowling Club last Friday in aid of Team Scotland Learning Disabilities International Squad who will be competing at Cardiff in June 2020.

The Scottish Gents Masters Finals Day at Glasgow Indoor Bowling Club sponsored by Jack High Insurance - Congratulations to Kris Ritchie and Ross Crawford of Falkirk Indoor bowling club who as qualifiers performed superbly well in the Scottish Gents Master finals day at Glasgow Indoor Bowling Club last Sunday. Kris narrowly lost his game in the quarter final to Graeme Donaldson of Elgin 8-3,5-8,2-1 in the tie break. Ross Crawford defeated Trevor Taylor(Cumbria) 7-6, 9-6 in the quarter final and went on to lose to Graeme Donaldson by the smallest of margins in the semi-final 5-12,9-5, 2-1 in the tie break. Many congratulations to John McHutchison who has played for Falkirk Indoor club for many years and ironically on the year of having left the club has become the Scottish Gents Masters Champion 2019 with great wins over Stewart Anderson(Blantyre) who is ranked number 1 in the World Bowls Tour ,Alan Young(East Lothian) and Graeme Donaldson in the final.

National Junior Singles at Paisley - Ladies - Congratulations to Kimberly Dodds who reached the semi finals of this competition last weekend by defeating Carrie McLean of Auchinleck 21 - 19 in Round 2 and Morgan Williams of Stirling 21- 0 in the quarter final. Kimberly will be playing in the semi-final against Dawn Anderson of Auchinleck at Auchinleck on Saturday the 4th of January. Scottish Senior Gents Nationals - a successful weekend for the senior gents with all players reaching the last sixteen stage of their respective competitions. Craigie (Falkirk) 22 Cowal 9, First round Falkirk 18 West of Scotland 10. Triples first round at Coatbridge - N. Lewis, A. Fletcher and G. Newby 20 Dumbarton 9. The second round for all the teams will be played at Coatbridge on Sunday 26th January. The senior gents also enjoyed a friendly match last Wednesday away to East Kilbride.
On the domestic front the Friday Night Falkirk Finest Fours competition involving a number of outdoor local clubs generously sponsored by Donald Cowan has got off to a very good start. Last Saturday the club also had its first Bounce game and High Tea event for visitors and members which was a great success.Anyone who is interested in having a go at this sport would be most welcome at our coaching session held every Tuesday at 6:30 pm. Shoes and bowls can be provided. Similarly the club is open to Juniors at 10am on a Saturday morning.

Bowls and bowling shoes are provided by the club.Parents who bring their children along to try out this sport are made most welcome. Expert coaching is provided in a fun loving atmosphere. Any adult who may be interested in playing the game are welcome to come along and have a try on a Tuesday night when coaching is available.

Gents National Singles 2019/20 - Our own Martin McCalley of Falkirk won all of his 4 games to make to it through to the Semi Final stage of the competition.
Scottish Masters Gents Singles - congratulations to Kris Ritchie of Falkirk who last Saturday won the SIBA Scottish Masters East Qualifier Final against Stuart Pagan of Abbeyview. Kris will now compete in The Scottish Masters Finals Day which will take place on Sunday 17th November,2019 at Glasgow IBC.
Senior Gents Section - entries for the KO ties are required by the 1st October. They include The Billy Buchanan Singles (for non trophy winners),The Walter Falconer Handicap Singles, The Single Sets and the Four Bowl Pairs.Entry forms are at the office.Last week the seniors successfully started off the season with two friendly matches against East Kilbride and West Lothian.
